I started Velcro Shoes for me, a place I could write down all the feeling and emotions I had been carrying with me for the past 8 years.  It is therapeutic and it has opened up emotions I didn't know I had.  Caden, my son, was diagnosed with Autism at the age of 2, he is now 10.  I, like all of you, have been through it all.  I have met some of the most amazing moms through the years at various therapies or functions, and everyone has a story to tell.  Although our stories are unique and worthy of being told, we all have things in common, we all have a special child.

We have a understanding that is unspoken.
We can empathize and laugh at the things we go through on a daily basis.

I wanted to create a safe place - a sisterhood - where there is no judgment, only compassion, empathy and support as we connect.  We can share our ups and our downs, daily struggles or triumphs.  We are connected through our children - only one of the amazing gifts they have given us.
